Role & Responsibilities Director, Writer, Producer, & Editor
I wore multiple hats on this narrative short film, managing everything from the script and production logistics to the final edit.
Notes:
Working with a large cast of child actors made this a uniquely challenging project, but their incredible talent made every hurdle completely worth it. I am immensely proud of what this team accomplished. The film went on to win Best Sci-Fi Short of the Year (2025) at Top Shorts, and the project’s success earned me a spot as one of Top Shorts’30 Exceptional Filmmakers to Watch.

Role & Responsibilities: Writer & Executive Producer
Beyond penning the script, I served as an active Executive Producer, remaining on set for the entirety of production to ensure the narrative's complex structure translated seamlessly to the screen.
Notes
Though this project is a quirky sci-fi thriller, it is deeply personal. As the youngest brother to three older sisters, I rooted the central sibling dynamic in my own life—and that authenticity is resonated with audiences, ultimately earning the film a recommendation from the New York Times. Because the story unfolds across multiple timelines within a single location, the shoot was a puzzle that occasionally left the A.D. and set dresser scratching their heads. I loved being on set to help untangle the continuity and work alongside a brilliant cast and crew who brought this complex little world to life.

Postion: Post-Production Supervisor
I was out of the country filming in Kenya during primary photography (see below). I returned to oversee the entire post-production workflow, ensuring all creative departments aligned for the final delivery.
Notes:
This project came together just as the pandemic was normalizing fully remote, distributed production teams. I managed the coordination between a Los Angeles-based composer, an offsite graphic design team, and our on-site sound design department. With the creative team scattered across the country, clear communication and tight organization became the ultimate priorities to bring the project across the finish line.

Positions: Director, Cinematographer, Editor, VFX, and Sound Design
I handled every aspect of production on this project, from building the physical set to the final sound design and voiceover.
Notes:
This advertisement started as a passion project while I was in law school, a love lettter to an alpha-stage video game that was going viral at the time. After the game's creators saw my predecessor to this video, they reached out and asked me to expand it into their official announcement trailer. Filmed in Montana, I used leftover construction materials in the family barn to build a scale model of a home, which I burned down that same night. From the physical construction to the post-production, this was an incredibly fun, hands-on project that grew into something much bigger than I anticipated.
Position: Videographer, Editor, Producer
As the lead filmmaker, working alongside one assistant, I managed the entire videography production throughout the roughly two-month project.
Notes:
While I am quite proud of the final video, this project was ultimately more about what I learned than what I created. Spending two months in Kenya—my longest stay in a developing country—was a deeply humbling experience. I am incredibly grateful to the many kind and generous Kenyans who hosted us in their homes and showed us around their towns and communities. Despite the vast differences in our material circumstances, I was deeply moved by their patience, warmth, and joy. A special thank you goes to my Kenyan fixer and assistant, Joel Quest, whose support was invaluable!
